About Us

This is Team 4248 (5 years ago.)

Team 4248: Bits n' Pieces was established in 2011 at Anderson CVI in Whitby, Ontario with the goal of teaching students about the applications of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and much, much more.

Who Are We?

We are a FIRST robotics team - we fundraise for, design, and build a robot to play a competitive game every year alongside 5,000+ teams across the world. Learn more about it here

During a robotics season we learn countless valuable skills; programming, welding, 3D modelling, design, and the applications of all of the topics that we learn in the classroom.

In the six week build period we work from 3pm to 8pm every week night - we even eat our dinners together - because Team 4248 is more than a robotics team. We're a family.

We Build Robots.

Our robot for FIRST Stronghold. He came 20th overall out of 49 at the 2016 GTR East competition, our team record, and won our team its first award: the Imagery award for creative use of materials.

Our robot for FIRST Recycle Rush. He came 46th overall at the 2015 GTR East competition.

Our robot for FIRST Aerial Assist. She came 38th overall at the 2014 GTR East competition, and was built by all but two new team members after a one year break as a result of a teacher's strike.

Our Achievements

The Imagery Award in honour of Jack Kamen

In honor of Jack Kamen, Dean’s father, for his dedication to art and illustration and his devotion to FIRST. This award celebrates attractiveness in engineering and outstanding visual aesthetic integration of machine and team appearance.

Awarded to our 2016 robot Monte.
